4th Grade Science Final Exam Study Guide
Definitions are in your copybook and textbook. We will be reviewing the bullet point questions in class until the exam!
Unit 2-Lesson 1 and 3- design, designed system, engineering, process, prototype, technology, technology product, tool
- Describe the engineering process
- List some examples of technology, and identify the needs that each example helps people meet
- Explain how technology can help us move an object from one place to another more easily
Unit 3- Lesson 1 and 5- root, stem, leaf, photosynthesis, chlorophyll, environment, adaptation, physical adaptation, behavioral adaptation, instinct
- Describe the process of photosynthesis
- Recognize physical and behavioral adaptations in plants and animals
Unit 4- Lesson 4- natural resources, renewable resources, nonrenewable resources
- Explain the importance of natural resources such as water, animals, and plants
Unit 9- Lesson 1, 3, and 5- energy, kinetic energy, potential energy, mechanical energy, chemical energy, electrical energy, heat, conduction, convection, radiation, conductor, insulator
- Differentiate between potential and kinetic energy
- Identify sources of heat
- Identify materials that conduct heat well
No Specific Unit but study the following terms-
- Transverse wave-a wave in which the energy travels in a direction that is perpendicular to the wave
- Tsunami- is a huge sea wave that can cause much damage on shore
- Waves- transfer energy from one place to another without transferring matter
- Amplitude- height of a wave
- Frequency- the number of times a wave occurs
- Wavelength- distance between one point on a wave to the next
